Growing up so fast!

Well - even though we don't have a camera - we can still update you all!! Tanner is getting mobile! Yikes! He's rolling all over the place. Just last night he was playing on the floor and was rolling all over the living room! He rolled right over to his Daddy! Now we'll have to keep a close eye on him b/c soon he'll realize that he can go anywhere by rolling and will be into everything! :)

He's doing great with learning to sit by himself. Everyday we can tell his torso is getting stronger - it probably won't be long and he won't need the support anymore.

Tanner loves books! When I put a variety of toys in front of him - he always goes for the book! Of course, he's not too interested in looking at it yet - just biting it and turning it around in his hands.

He's making lots of gurgling noises! We are excited for the day he says either mamamama or dadadada!!

Here's a pictoral look at Tanner's past 6 months - watch how our little guy grows!

Six Months Old!!

Tanner is six months old today!! The time sure does fly!! Seems like just yesterday we were welcoming him into this world.

Well - this may be the last batch of photos for awhile. Our camera is no longer in commission so until we get it fixed or get a new one - the photos below will have to hold you all over!!

Tanner is eating new things each week. I added a list on the right-hand side of the page to keep you all updated on his new foods! (I stole that idea from Zach and Katie - thanks guys!) :)

AND...Tanner's second bottom middle tooth just popped through today!

Here are some photos of Tanner with Daddy and again with Mama at Multnomah Falls. Tanner's first waterfall experience!

Lots of New Stuff!!

Hello Everyone!!
Tanner has been experiencing LOTS of new things!! First - he got his first tooth!!! His bottom left middle tooth popped through on March 28. It's just through - it's even hard to see but you sure can feel it - sharp!!

He's also doing fun things like playing drums with Daddy!! You can see a video of it on his video site - see the link on the right-hand side of the page.

Another exciting new thing is that Tanner tried solid food for the very first time on April 2! Rice cereal was his first food and he did really well!! There is a video of this on the video site too! Enjoy!!

Here are some photos of these fun new things and MORE!!

Here's Tanner waving hello to all of you!

Bright-eyed boy always looking around to see and learn new things!

Tanner likes to look at books...

....and eat them too!

Sitting up is hard to do!

Sometimes you need a bit of help to sit...

But here he is holding himself!! And with a cheesy smile too! :) What a ham!

Playing the drum with Daddy!!

Yummy!!!!

Five Months Old!!!

We just can't believe our little guy is over five months old already!! He's getting so big and is growing up by leaps and bounds. Tanner is a happy, content baby and is just a joy to have in our lives!!

He is getting more and more social. Lately, he doesn't want to go to bed b/c it's more fun to be with us! He has a bit of a cough/cold again. We are hoping that it goes away quickly and doesn't get too bad.

Grandpa and Nana VT came to visit last week...we had a WONDERFUL time!! Wanna come back, Nana and Grandpa?? We miss you!!

Sorry it has taken a bit to update the blog...Tanner is getting too smart for our camera! There is a red light that shines before the picture is taken (before the flash goes off) so he blinks and squints as soon as he sees the red light! Almost all of the photos we've taken in the past month show him with his eyes closed or half closed! But we have a few.....

Here are some recent photos!!

Tanner is getting really LONG!!

Daddy likes to make me look funny!

Here is one of the silly faces Tanner has been making lately!!

Tanner loves his Grandpa and Nana!!! Isn't this adorable? Tanner has started to touch and grab at our faces...sometimes not so nicely but it's so sweet!!!

He did lots of cuddling with Nana - she sure knows how to spoil her boy!

Grandpa's buddy!!!!!

When Grandpa and Nana were here....we took Tanner to the zoo for the very first time! We all had a great time!!

WOW...those giraffes are taller than my Daddy!

Tanner seemed to really like his stroller:

That is...until the sun started to shine in his eyes. Grandpa rescued him!! Thanks Grandpa! It's MUCH better to be in Grandpa's arms!

New Happenins'

Hi Everyone!
Lots and lots of fun stuff has been happening with Tanner! He is over FOUR months old already!! He just keeps getting bigger and bigger (has anyone figured out how to keep 'em small?) and cuter and cuter!

Tanner has found his feet:

They are his new favorite toy! (Makes sense...they go everywhere with him!!)

And he even enjoys sucking on them (yummy!!!).

His eyes are still a BEAUTIFUL blue!

And he's still SO happy!!

He is getting stronger and stronger, he can really lift his head!

He likes to suck on his toys AND his fingers, sometimes at the same time! (Best of both worlds!)

Here he is in some cute winter duds:

Tanner's Auntie Lisa traveled to Seattle for work and decided a quick trip south was worth it to see Tanner (and we're so glad she did!!). Tanner loved hanging out with Auntie Lisa again!

Tanner USED to take all his naps in the sling:

But now he is sleeping in his own crib!!! (sans the boppy and toys of course!)

He loves his pal Wheat!! Aren't they too cute?

And one more super adorable shot that we just couldn't leave out...

We LOVE Visitors!!!

Hi Everyone!!!
Who wants to come visit next?? We really love having visitors. Tanner is a very social baby and loves to have people around!

Grandma Root and Aunt Sheri were our most recent visitors - and we had a truly wonderful time!! It was a time of lots of 'firsts' for Tanner. First road trip - Tanner did pretty good, he slept most of the way. First trip out of town - we went to the Oregon coast for the weekend. First time seeing, hearing and smelling the ocean. First time sleeping in a dresser drawer!! (yes...this is true, see the photo below) And first shower - no bathtub in the cottage we stayed at.

Tanner is doing lots of other new things too. He is becoming more interested in his toys. He studies them and reaches for them and grabs at them. And of course, they go right in the mouth!!

He is also finding his voice. You can see a video of this by clicking on the 'My Videos' link on the right-hand side of the page.

Another first that isn't so exciting is that he has his first cold. He is pretty congested and after a couple of nights of him not sleeping (and us not sleeping) we talked with the advice nurse and she suggested having him sleep in his car seat. What a wonderful idea!!! It works so great b/c he is propped up and can actually breathe!! (he couldn't breathe well while laying flat on his back in bed) So now we are all getting sleep again!! Yippee!!

Enjoy all the photos!!

Overalls are made for little boys!!

Grandma Root and I love to snuggle together.

I met my Aunt Sheri for the very first time!!! I love her!!!

I am a very happy little boy!!

Aunt Sheri took me on a 'bike ride' around her farm neighborhood in Michigan and explained all the fun things to see and do! It was so much fun!

When we went to the Oregon coast, we stayed in a town called Lincoln City. The first night we were there we drove a few miles south to Depoe Bay to watch the sunset. Here I am with Grandma, Aunt Sheri and Mama.

This was the beautiful sunset we saw!!

And here is my Grandma and Aunt Sheri waving hello in Depoe Bay, OR!

The next morning we got up early and went for a walk on the beach - I loved hearing and smelling and seeing the ocean!!

I decided to take a little nap!

My pal Wheat loves the ocean too!! The way he runs around on the sand you'd never know that he is 14 years old!

Here I am with Grandma at the cottage we stayed in. I like to play with my tongue!

Grandpa Root wasn't able to come out to Oregon to visit but I talked with him on the phone! It was wonderful to hear your voice, Grandpa!

There wasn't any room in our car to bring along the Pack 'n Play for Tanner to sleep in so we improvised. We pulled out a large dresser drawer and lined it with a really thick, soft blanket and a sheet and Tanner sleep in there!! He didn't seem to mind.

Morning devotions with Aunt Sheri at the cottage.

On the way home we stopped at a view point to take a photo of our Mount Hood! What a beautiful place we live!!
